Alison Cotton/Wolf Type Dog
Hot Box
16 July
Experimental violist Alison Cotton will play Chelmsford’s Hot Box on Saturday, 16 July 2022. Alison describes her music as ‘long, haunting folk drones’ and is promoting her third LP The Portrait You Painted of Me, which has been receiving rave reviews. The Guardian said: “Cotton’s album renders traditional music in uncanny colours with influences from her native north-east England” while The Quietus awarded it Album of the Week, stating: “Cotton’s talent is special, and her latest music will send you to places you never knew existed.”
Chelmsford’s Wolf Type Dog, aka Tim Rayner, will perform an extended soundtrack to the movie Doghouse that he scored.
The event, promoted by Even Butterflies Make A Sound, promises to provide an evening of music that is both challenging and rewarding.
All profits from the evening will be donated to support musicians in Ukraine.
